Service Repair Manual SECTION 11 UPPER WISHBONE BEARINGS, SEALS, THRUST WASHERS, REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT 11-1 Service Repair Manual UPPER WISHBONE BEARINGS,SEALS,THRUST WASHERS, REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT In order to carry out this operation the upper wishbone has to be removed from the vehicle. Please observe the following procedure when removing the wishbone: Jacking Vehicle: Jack vehicle or axle on axle stands of suitable capacity if available. Otherwise, jack wheels individually. Note: Observe Timoney instructions on jacking at all times! See Section 1(b)2. 1. Remove the road-wheel(s). (See Section 1(b)2- Raising a wheel of the ground. In case of CTIS vehicles, detach CTIS hoses from hub side using 7/8” wrenches before removing wheels. It may be necessary to loosen and turn rim-side fittings to access wheel lug nuts. Be sure to re-tighten immediately to avoid losing tire pressure. Detach CTIS hoses from knuckle/spindle fittings after removing wheel. 2. Remove the locknut from the shoulder bolt in the outer rod-end of the track rod assembly and withdraw the shoulder bolt. Remove the rod-end from the steering arm fork. Re-fit the shoulder bolt and nut into the rod-end and pull back the track rod assembly to allow access to the suspension and hub assemblies. 3. Remove ABS sensor complete with cable and hub vent pipe. Remove pneumatic pipes from brake actuator. Mark brake actuator pipes and fittings to show which was connected to which. 4. Wind back spring brake on 4*4 #1 axle and 8*8#2 axle. It may be n
