Abstract: The development of asset management business innovation plays an important role in constructing a new profi t model
and building core competence for securities companies. However, in recent years, as affected by many factors, the innovation
process of asset management business was relatively slow, business development has been diffi cult to have breakthrough, and
in a weaker position when competing with other asset management institutions. In this paper, based on the existing research,
the historical evolution of business innovation of asset management was discussed, and then, the internal and external factors
that restrict asset management business innovation were analyzed. At last, advices and measures were proposed separately from
regulators and securities companies’ perspectives to promote asset management business innovation further.
