Abstract: Th ispapermainly introduces a new type ofG auss Sidelm ethod in the app lied reasearch of
pow er flow computation of pow er system. F irst, old and new Gauss Sidelmethod is deduced respec
tively based on detailed conventiona.l Expression form s of node voltage equation of new method vary
from trad itional method. Computational formula is much smi p ler and the number of iterative tmi es
may be decreased and then use the C+ + programm ing language for GaussSeidelmethod for pro
gramm ing. F inally the proposed new high method is app lied to instances of pow er flow calcu lation.
Calculation results show that the number of the new methods iterative tmi es comparedw ith tradition
almethods reduces by 30% , and the application range of the acceleration factor extends for a w ider
range.
