The JCT-VC meeting was held under the chairmanship of Dr. Gary Sullivan (Microsoft/USA) and Dr. Jens-Rainer Ohm (RWTH Aachen/Germany). The JCT-VC meeting sessions began at approximately 9:30?a.m. on Thursday 15 April. Meeting sessions were held on all days (including weekend days) until the meeting was closed at approximately 1:45?p.m. on Friday 23 April. Approximately 190 people attended the JCT-VC meeting, and 40 input documents were discussed. The meeting took place in a co-located fashion with a meeting of ISO/IEC JTC?1/SC?29/WG?11 (MPEG) – one of the two parent bodies of the JCT-VC. The local host for the meeting was the Institut für Informationsverarbeitung of Leibniz Universit?t Hannover. The subject matter of the JCT-VC meeting activities consisted of work on the new next-generation video coding standardization project now referred to as High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC).
