As a resultthere were significant differences among the yields of the maize varieties tested in this experiment. The regression relationship was significant between the maize yield per plant and seed number per ear and thousand seed weight. The correlation coefficient between yield and seed number per ear was quite significantand also the ear length also correlated significantly with the yield per ear of maize. Comparing with low-yield varietiesthe seed per ear and thousand seed weight of the high-yield varieties was highertheir growth period was longerand their plant was more luxuriant and more tolerant to drought.
