The key characteristics not only improve coverage of the access network, increase the user number of single PON, but also meet broadband need of users which is rapid developing. Because of these, its possible that 1G EPON upgrades to 10G EPON. In the Process of introduction of 10G EPON, two situations can be faced: building new ODN network and speeding up bandwidth based on network which has been built.
