Abstract: The importance of accurate determination of the volatile matter of coal and some factors affecting accurate determination
of the volatile matter of coal are discussed, and the influence of quality of crucibles on the accurate determination of the volatile
matter of coal are analysed by 3 groups of test. The yield of the volatile matter decreased gradually with increase of quality of
crucibles; the quality of crucibles for determination of the volatile matter should be similar so that the repeatability of determination
can meet with the national standards request.
