To improve the port location potential, the author suggested taking actions such as attracting supply of hinterland, optimizing loading-unloading-hauling system of port, enhancing intrinsic competitiveness of port. Finally, Shantou port was taken as an example, and the port logistics develop strategy which based on port location potential theory was presented.
