LateMesozoicOre-formingEventsintheNingwuOreDistrict,Middle LowerYangtzeRiverPolymetallicOreBelt,EastChina:Evidencefrom ZirconU-PbGeochronologyandHfIsotopicCompositionsofthe GranodioriticStocks DUANChao1 LIYanhe2,HOUKejun1,2YUANShunda2LIUJialin1 ZHANGCheng1 1StateKeylaboratoryofGeologicalProcessesandMineralResources,SchooloftheEarthSciencesand Resources,ChinaUniversityofGeosciences,Beijing100083,China 2MLRKeyLaboratoryofMetallogenyandMineralAssessment,InstituteofMineralResources,Chinese AcademyofGeologicalSciences,Beijing100037,China Abstract:LateMesozoicvolcanic-subvoicanicrocksandrelatedirondeposits,knownasporphyry irondepositsinChina,arewidespreadintheNingwuoredistrict(Cretaceousbasin)ofthemiddle lowerYangtzeRiverpolymetallicorebelt,EastChina.TwotypesofLateMesozoicmagmaticrocks areexposed:oneisdioriticrockscloselyrelatedtoironmineralizationasthehostedrock,andthe otheroneisgranodioritic(-granitic)rocksthatcnttheorebodies.Tounderstandtheageoftheiron mineralizationandtheore-formingevent,detailedzirconU-PbdatingandHfisotopemeasurement wereperformedongranodioriticstocksintheWashan,Gaocun-Nanshan,Dongshanand Heshangqiaoirondepositsinthebasin.Fouremplacementandcrystallization(typicallyforzircons) agesofgranodioriticrocksweremeasuredas126.1±0.5Ma,126.8±0.5Ma,127.3±0.5Maand 126.3±0.4Ma,respectivelyinthesefourdeposits,withtheLA-MC-ICP-MSzirconU-Pbmethod. Basedontheaboveresultscombinedwithpreviousdating,itisinferredthattheirondepositsinthe NingwuCretaceousbasinoccurredinaveryshortperiodof131-127Ma.InsituzirconHf compositionsof εHf(t)ofthegranodioritearemainlyfrom-3to-8andtheircorresponding176Hf/177Hf ratioarefrom0.28245to0.28265,indicatingsimilarcharacteristicsofdioriticrocksinthebasin.We inferthatgranodioriticrocksoccurringintheNingwuoredistricthaveanoriginalrelationshipwith dioriticrock
