In order to help people to get traffic information conveniently, A public transport route inquiring system is made to service the society. In the beginning of this paper, the necessity of city bus query system is analyzed, and the plan for this system based on the least transfer times is discussed. A public transport route inquiring system (TRIS) is designed and implemented based on the least transfers; it can give users all the reachability routes that are not more than two transfers according to the actual conditions one by one. We developed this TRIS by using Visual Basic 6.0 as the programming langue, Microsoft Access 2000 as database software. This system has two function modules, including transport route inquiring module and data management module.
