The Ancient and Modern Literature Research on the Application Law of Hegu Point Speciality:Acupuncture-moxibustion and Tuina Author:Yu XiaoHua Tutor:Wu FuDong Abstract Objective: We have comprehensively reviewed on the literatures of the use of Hegu acupoint in acupuncture treatment, so as to explore its application principles, and hence provide literature evidence for the theory Hegu treating the diseases in orofacial locations as well as the phenomenon of “certain meridian points being diagnostically and therapeutically relevant to multiple viscera”.Also, via summarization of Hegu compatibility rules, we intend to provide guidance and implications for the related clinical treatment and research. rules and. Methods: Combining the methods of literature review and statistics analysis, to analyse Hegu acupoint application principles and compatibility features. Results: In the related ancient literatures, we have found 1322 articles, of which 668 items discussed the use of Hegu point in the treatment of 65 kinds of orafacial diseases, and 654 items involving the use of Hegu point in treating 78 kinds of visceral system diseases. In the related modern clinical researches, we have retrieved 1479 references, of which 736 articles discussed the use of Hegu point in treating the 35 kinds of orofacial diseases, and 743 articles on the use of Hegu in treating 93 kinds of viscera system disorders. The wide range of therapeutic effects of Hegu not only reveals that the theory of Hegu treating the diseases in orafacial locations has a solid theoretical basis and rich clinical application foundation, but also shows that Hegu can be widely applied to treating vari
