STEWARDS’ REPORT SINGAPORE AUGUST MEETING 2015 SUNDAY, 02 AUGUST 2015 STATE OF GOING : STRATHAYR TURF (LONG COURSE C) (GOOD) POLYTRACK (GOOD) RACE 1 [TF0970] CLASS 5 POLYTRACK 1100M DIVISION 1 As there was no similar claiming rider available, the Stewards gave permission for App WS Chan to replace App Y Salim on MAGIC TO WIN. Prior to the start, BILBO BAGGINS (M Nunes) was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and passed fit to race. After arriving at the barrier, DRAGON NINETYNINE (App J See) and ALWAYS A WINNER (N Juglall) both had their saddles readjusted. SOUTHERN ADMIRAL (M Ewe), which was slow to begin, was crowded on jumping between ALWAYS A WINNER, which jumped awkwardly inwards and LET’S SCREAM NOW (B Parnham), which was carried outwards slightly by MAGIC TO WIN, which was carried outwards when TIM (M Rodd) jumped awkwardly outwards. DRAGON NINETYNINE was slow into stride. Passing the 800m, HAN SOLO (M Kellady) eased when crowded between SUPER SPUR (KB Soo), which rolled outwards and LET’S SCREAM NOW, which shifted inwards and away from SOUTHERN ADMIRAL. SOUTHERN ADMIRAL raced wide throughout. MAGIC TO WIN and HAN SOLO both raced wide from the 600m. ALWAYS A WINNER was carried outwards when LADY SHARK (App T See) laid outwards between the 300m and the 200m. Over the concluding stages, TIM and BILBO BAGGINS brushed on a couple of occasions. App TR Barnabas, the rider of REAL HERO, was fined a sum of S$500 for making a celebratory gesture prior to the Finish in terms of MRA Rule 44(12). A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on DRAGON NINETYNINE which revealed no apparent abnormality.
