考古2011年第3 期 王树芝 王增林 何 驽 : KEYWORDS: Taosi Sit e Charcoal analysis Palaeoenvironment Wood Utilization ABSTRACT: From 2002 t o 2007, 25 charcoal sam les w ere collected in the archaeological excava t ions of T aosi Site, and w ere identified by means of ref lected light microsco e. The results show ed that t he charcoal fragments belonged t o 25 w ood s ecies ( including seven broadleaved s ecies unidentified) and one Gramineal s ecies. This reflected that there w as a distribution of coniferous and broadleaved m ixed forest, broadleaved forest, orchard trees and Gramineal lant s nearby the site. During middle T aosi Culture eriod, the w ood w hich the ancient eo le used the m ost for architecture w as orient al ar borvit ae, follow ed b oak and Chinese ine; Orient al arborvit ae, w hich was one kind of rare w ood, w as y fetched from the locations far aw a f rom T aosi site for t he alaces. It was sure that the ancient eo le y collected u ube for food. Some kilns used common smoket ree to bake ott eries.
