Author ：Hu Shuqin Tutor ：Professor Lu Guangchao Abstract Objective: To observe the effect in treating Chronic Atrophic Gastritis (CAG) caused by Yang deficiency and blood stasis with WeiwenXiaowei Tang （XWT ）and explore the mechanism of it. Methods: 60 patients with CAG were divided into two groups at random:the treatment group and the control group. The treatment group was given XWT ，the control group was given Wei-Fu-chun. Symptoms and signs of each group were observed before and after the treatment ，in-cluding gastroscopic and pathologic observing ， Hp-killing rate. Results: The treatment group’s main effective rate of the syndrome of TCM 、main effective rate of the gastroscopic and pathologic observing and Hp-killing rate were 53.33 ％，66.67 ％， 33.33 ％，62.50 ％;the control group’s were 23.33 ％，26.67 ％，10.00％，26.67 ％.There is a significant difference （P0.05 ）or very significant difference （P0.01 ）between the two groups.XWT can improve more significantly the symptoms such as gasteremphraxis and gasteralgia than Wei-Fu-chun. Conclusions:XWT is a effective drug of treating CAG ， it can moderate clinical symptom ， promote recoverment of pathological changes ，alleviate the patients’ sufferings rapidly.
