Collapsing and slid ing responses of slope near ep icenter and its r nning o t process triggered by single and combined actionsw ith tmi e d ifference, local condtions and spatial heterogeneity of P and S seism icw aves are e- laborated. The form ation m echan ism and key controlling factors of the slope collapsing and slid ing are confirmed. The res lt of n merical smi lation show s that the slope collapsing and sliding are triggered by the comb ined action of seism ic P- and S- w aves, .i e. the co pled effect of vertical periodic tension and compression and horizontal period ic shearing.
