When While(初步了解) ① 跟动词时，while后面只能跟延续性动词 ------- 进行时； when既可以跟延续性动词，也可跟短暂性动词------ 进行时 、一般过去时都可以！ Eg： While/When he was singing，the lights went out. ② 表示两个动作同时发生，用while更合适. Eg: While he was shopping, she was shopping. ③ when除“当…的时候”意义之外，还含有先后顺序可译为“一…就” Eg: When I heard the news, I ran out of the room. * * Sentence Pattern ： S + was / were doing （+ time expressions）. Time Expressions: at 6:00 yesterday morning ; at that time; from 2:00 to 4:00 yesterday afternoon… What was he doing at 9:00 yesterday morning? What was the boy doing from 6:00 to 9:00 last night? While：during a period of time （conj.） 当……的时候 （连词） While sth was happening，sth happened. or While sb/sth was prep. /adv…，sth happened. 当某事情正在发生的时候，另一件事情发生了。 当某人/事处于某种状态下，另一件事情发生了。 （while从句为背景动作,主句发生在从句过程之中） 2. While sth be happening, another one be happening. (be should change with the tense) 当一件事情发生的时候，另一件事情也同时正在进行。 （while从句可以和主句互换位置，两个动作正在同时发生） ① While he was doing his homework，the bell rang. ② While she was away，her friend helped me.
