ACS 6000 § LSU (12p) has three diode stacks, one for each phase. Two crowbar thyristors (not cooled by deionized water) in both ends of the stack. § Depending on LSU power different ratings are used in the components In order to prevent harmful overvoltage when diodes turn off the three rectification phases are snubbed by two RC snubbers, one installed between the plus and the neutral (N) and the other between the neutral and the minus. All rectifier and line related functions of the ACS 6000 are implemented in the AMC33 controller of the COU (COU1 in multimotor drives) assigned to the first INU. The following Figure above illustrates how the control hardware of a single motor drive with a LSU is interconnected Pulse interface board (PINT-board) generating the firing pulses sent to the crowbar thyristors via the pulse transmitters. § Diode rectifier monitoring unit (EAF-board) for short circuit detection in the rectifier (indirect method to detect faulty rectifier diodes). The programmable logic is located in the DD C779 AE board, also called PINT-board (Pulsetransformer INTerface). The board can switch on a crowbar unit and is used for line side protection. The PINT board controls up to two independent 6-pulse-thyristor bridges with electrical amplifiers. The board is connected via optical links with the INT (INTerface) board, through which the firing commands for the thyristors can be controlled. Additional it is connected with two FSCD boards via optical links, used for back up of the short circuit supervision. The logic on the PINT board handles the serial protocol via the optical links and generates pulse trains for all thyristors. Additionally it takes care of fault situations. ?
