Ambassador Song Zhe, Head of the Mission of the Peoples Republic of China to the European Union at the Reception for China-EU Youth Friendship? 2009/10/23 卢雍政副主席、拉丁贾主席，各位青年朋友们：Vice President Lu Yongzheng,President Radinja,Dear Young Friends,欢迎大家来中国驻欧盟使团做客！今年是中华人民共和国成立60周年。60年来，特别是改革开放30多年来，中国从封闭、落后、贫穷一步步走向开放、进步、繁荣，在经济、政治、社会、科 技、人文等各个领域实现了历史性的飞跃，也为世界和平与共同发展做出了重大贡献。不久前，全中国人民怀着无比激动和喜悦的心情热烈庆祝了新中国成立60周 年这一盛事。This year marks the 60th anniversary of founding of the PRC. During 60 years, in particular during the 30 years of reform and opening up, China has transformed from a closed, backward and poor country into an open, progressive and prosperous country. China has made giant progress in the economic, political, social, science and technology, cultural and other fields, and has also made significant contribution to world peace and common development. Not long ago, the Chinese people celebrated the 60th anniversary of the founding of New China with an unparalleled excitement and joy.中欧相隔千山万水，但交往历史源远流长，人民之间彼此怀有美好情谊，谱写过一篇又一篇动人的传奇。新中国60年发展历程，见证了中国同欧洲国家关系的长足 发展。建国后不久中国就同多个欧洲国家建交，双方接触与合作逐步展开。1975年中国与欧共体建交后，中欧关系伴随着中国改革开放进程日渐成长、日臻成 熟。进入21世纪，中欧关系实现了跨越式发展，连续迈上面向21世纪的长期稳定的建设性伙伴关系、全面伙伴关系和全面战略伙伴关系三个台阶，进入了历史上 交往规模最大、成果最丰硕的时期，形成了全方位、宽领域、多层次的互利合作格局。Despite geographical distance, China and the EU enjoy a long history of contacts, and their people cherish good feelings toward each other, leaving many touching stories.
