6.11 Bevel Gears(锥齿轮) Bevel gears are used to transmit motion and power between intersecting shafts. (1) Straight bevel gears (2) helical (螺旋状的) bevel gear mechanism (3) Spiral bevel gear(弧形锥齿轮) mechanism 6.11.2 Back Cone(背锥) and Virtual Gear(当量齿轮) of a Bevel Gear Back Cone (背锥) 球面渐开线与背锥齿轮 一对背锥齿轮的啮合相当于一对锥齿轮大端的啮合 The reference cone and the back cone of a bevel gear have the same axis and their generatrices (母线) intersect perpendicularly at the reference circle. The reference cone angle of gear 2 here is ?2 = 90? and the surface of the reference cone becomes a plane. Such a bevel gear is called a crown gear (冠齿轮). The back cone of a crown gear is a cylinder. The tooth profile of the virtual gear is almost the same as that of the bevel gear at the large end. The module and pressure angle of the virtual gear are those of the bevel gear. The engagement of the virtual gears is equivalent to that of the bevel gears. Similarly, The engagement of bevel gears can now be understood with their virtual gears. For a pair of bevel gears to mesh properly, their respective modules and pressure angles at the large ends should be equal. 6.11.3 Parameters and Dimensions of Bevel Gears If the addendum cone has the same apex as the reference cone, then the bottom clearance changes along the facewidth. In this case, the addendum angle ?a and addendum cone angle ?a can be calculated as follows. The contact ratio of their virtual gears can be considered approximately equal to the contact ratio of the bevel gear set. Homework:Ex.6-13 For the gear pair to have constant bottom clearance everywhere along the facewidth, the addendum angle ?a should be the same as the dedendum angle ?f . For standard bevel gearing, ?’=? * 6.11.1 Types and Applications of Bevel Gears The teeth of a bevel gear are distributed on the frustum(截锥体) of a cone(圆锥体). Parameters and dimensions at the large end are taken to be sta
