BioChem Technology was founded in 1978 as a biotech scientific research firm focusing on the control and optimization of fermentation processes in the pharmaceutical industry. These early efforts led to a sophisticated and detailed knowledge of suspended growth yeast and bacteria populations and also saw the initial development of our proprietary monitoring technologies. In the 1980s, BioChem started applying this expertise to wastewater treatment systems. The growing prevalence of biological nutrient removal processes dovetailed perfectly with our area of expertise. During this time we developed new technologies and optimization approaches, including the Biological Activity Meter BAM . Over the past decade, BioChem Technology has focused exclusively on the wastewater treatment industry and has applied its expertise, experience and proprietary technologies for plant optimization, re-rating, and de-bottlenecking.
