Middle School 101 What is Middle School and How Does It Work? Teams Montgomery Middle School is divided up into 4 teams of three, four or five classes. Each team has a name that reflects the Mariner theme Pirates !Grade 8 Marlins ! Grade 6, 7, 8 Montessori Nautilus !Grade 6 7 Atlantis !Grade 6 7 Explorations Explorations courses offer students a chance to explore and develop interests in applied skills. There are 5 Exploration subjects at Montgomery Middle School; Art Drama Home Economics Music Tech. Ed. Daily Schedule There are 7 periods each day Each period is 40-50 minutes in length 6 core period 1 exploration period Our schedule allows students to have flexible learning opportunities to integrate core curriculum areas. Student Support Services The Student Service Team includes individuals who have specialties in the areas of ESL, gifted, skill development, learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, behavior and counseling Each core team has a student service teacher to provide learning assistance for the students on that team Support is provided both in and out of class Our SEAs help support our low incidence students Extra-curricular opportunities !
