With the incessant development of industry, the automobile industry has also innovate a lot. As far as we know,petroleum is a crucial factor that affects the automobile industry, and the global total amount of petroleum is limited. After large oil exploitation, we are almost run out of the petroleum in the whole world, which makes the energy crisis a global issue. Besides, environmental pollution is getting worse and worse. Automobile emission is one of the main factor that cause the pollution. As the result, the role of electric vehicle (EV), which is with zero- emission, becomes more and more important.Many countries vigorously develop the new energy automobile and then give birth to the research on EV. The transmission system of EV including: battery,electric motor, controller and other mechanic transmission device. The transmission system is the core technology of EV. This thesis mainly describes the structure and principle of the battery, electric motor, controller and mechanic device of the transmission system of EV. Keyword：EV, transmission system, batter
