The civil war ended the debate between two kinds of mode of production, maintained the unity of the federal ,?and promoted the rapid development of America capitalist economy. However, behind the dazzling light is endless blood , and in addition to the positive effects, we can not ignore the grave disasters brought by war . As the Europe Saying goes: “War is death’s feast ”. The gravest disaster is the dead. Civil War Monument wrote that this war last 4 years, about 620000 people were killed in the battle. But Binghamton University historian J. David Hacker believes the number of soldier deaths was approximately 750,000, 20% higher than traditionally estimated, and possibly as high as 850,000.?
