The Chinese people are going through a tough period of time, fighting against the H7N9 flu virus and Ya an earthquake in Sichuan province. At this critical moment, our dreams have become the most important theme for the future development of China. Why dreams are so important for a person? In 1943, psychologist Abraham Maslow published his now-famous need hierarchy theory of motivation. Although the theory was based on his clinical observation of a few neurotic individuals, it has subsequently been used to explain the entire spectrum of human behavior. Maslow proposed that motivation is a function of five basic needs- physiological, safety, love, esteem, and self-actualization. Let’s look at the pyramid. Accordingly, when one’s physiological needs are relatively satisfied, the safety needs emerge. Climbing up the pyramid, the love and esteem needs are satisfied until the need for self-actualization is activated. That is to become the best one is capable of becoming. In other words, your dream has been fulfilled on that stage. As far as I am concerned, I dream that one day I can be a successful politician. Albert Einstein said “success comes from 99% of diligence and 1% of inspiration”. Don’t neglect the 1% of inspiration, it contains all the dreams, creativity and curiosity from the bottom of the heart. Although some people say that politics is full of conflict and conspiracy, I believe politics has its unique charm. To be the prime minister of China, one has to have comprehensive knowledge. History, economics, culture, religion and language skills are all categories of his personal knowledge backgrounds. But in order to equip himself with all these qualities, he has to be ambitious.
