Mekong River—The Lifeblood of Southeast Asia The Mekong River is the heart and soul of Southeast Asia.The 12th longest river in the world，the Mekong runs 4800 kilometers from Tibet through Yunnan Province in China，to Burma，Thailand，Cambodia，Laos and Vietnam.
