Emphatic Sentence 强调句 The structure for emphatic sentence: It is(was) + 被强调部分(主语,宾语或状语) +who, that .( that 有时也可指人) 1. It was John who (that) wore his best suit to the dance last night.强调主语 2.It was his best suit (that) John wore to the dance. 3. It was last night (that) John wore his best suit to the dance.强调状语 4.It was to the dance that John wore his best suit last night.强调状语 Emphatic structure is used in adverbial clause 1. It was because I wanted to buy a dictionary that I went to town yesterday. 2. It must be your mother who you are thinking about. Inversion倒装 如果把谓语动词放在主语前面,这就叫倒装。 如果将谓语动词完全置于主语之前,叫完全倒状。 如果只将助动词或情态动词放在主语之前,叫部分倒装。 1. Out rushed the boy. 2.Then came the football players.( complete inversions) 3.
