She was my maternal mother hen (in more ways than just one), she always took care of all my needs – treated me like the royal sun. The Top Cat of our family, she always knew what to do; my mother could solve all my problems from trig to a booboo. But what I’ll always remember through vicissitudes and Life unfair is that she was stubborn as a stone – even her jet hair. I shall treasure the time I had with her though certainly not enough; she was the jewel of the house, a true diamond in the rough. Wang, Ph.D. 1957 ~ 2003  林道溱女士生平 道溱原籍福建鼓浪嶼，板橋林家名門之後。1957年出生於台北，生長於新店安坑。父慈母賢，滿門書香。姊弟三人，均受高等教育，貢獻社稷。道溱從小勤學用功，品學兼優，先後畢業於安坑國小(獲台北縣縣長獎)，崇光女中、北一女及清華大學化學系。在母校擔任一年助教之後，於1980年出國來美，入Ohio州立大學進修分析化學，於1985年榮獲博士學位。在研究所期間，極受教授企重，發表多篇論文，並獲得一項專利。隨夫於1986年遷至馬利蘭州，進入NIH（美國國家醫務健康中心）從事研究工作十三年，表現優良，極受上司和同事敬愛。1999年轉入FDA（食品藥物管理局）服務，工作認真，甚為同儕推崇。 道溱與夫婿王可為，結識於清華大學，於1980年一同來美入研究院深造。1982年回台灣締結連理，兩人鰜鰈情深，學業事業，各有所成。育有二子，錫元、錫中，德智體群，優秀出眾。道溱極重愛兒教育，無論英文學校課內各項學科教育、週末中文學校、課外音樂修習、體育活動等，無不事先探訪名師，多方深入研究，務求盡善盡美。母德母儀，堪為楷模。 道溱於七月十日診斷有腦瘤和肺癌。在治
