And the world market of medical supplies has shown the constant growth, too. The Korean government has taken active attention to the field of health industry and has expanded the support for R D. The biggest problem in Korean health and medical field is the serious imbalance of import and export. Recently, the Korean market of medical supplies has increasingly depended on the import. The rate of market share of the developed countries in health industry is fairly high and the U. S. has almost monopolized the world market. ?????The industry of Korean oriental medicine has more serious problems. In the case of medicinal herbs, the dependence rate on import is extremely high. It is difficult to understand this situation in Korea where the tradition of oriental medicine has been well kept and the oriental medicine has its own medical system. ?????This paper attempts to examine the actual condition in industries of health and oriental medicine in Korean society. In the first part, the production state of medical supplies is analyzed, following by the investigation of the actual situation of sales in Korean medical supplies. And then, the conditions in R D industries of both Korean health and medical profession and oriental medicine are explained. Lastly, the future prospects in industries of health and oriental medicine in Korea are discussed.?
