Welcome to 6th Grade! Please read the following important information. Bus Routes Bus routes are posted outside the media center, in the court yard. We HIGHLY recommend students ride the bus to and from school on the 1st day to establish routine Afternoon Dismissal and Traffic Safety. School will be dismissed at 4:15pm. If your child will be a car rider, they will be in the front of the school waiting for you to drive through the car rider lane and jump into your car. All students walking home will leave out of the front of the building and walk across the street. Bus riders will depart from the back of the school in the bus port. Mornings Students should not arrive before 8:15am. There will be no supervision. The school doors will not open until 8:15. Between 8:15 and 8:50, students will be in the cafeteria. This time will be for study hall, so please come prepared. Our school day begins at 9:15 a.m. First Day Folders The Cobb County information folders will go home on the first day of school. Your signature will be required on several forms in the packet. Please read and sign these materials, and return these forms, as lockers will be issued based on the return of these items. Palmer Cafe If you have questions about the lunch program, lunch menus, or breakfast, please contact the Palmer Café staff at 770-591-5027. You can pre pay lunches at Immunization All sixth grade students must meet state immunization requirements by the first day of school. Immunization forms may be obtained from the local health department or from your physician. Clinic Corner If you have questions about medications or need to discuss a medical condition, please see Marci Powers, school nurse. Summer Work You may have worked on a summer reading assignment and a summer math assignment. These assignments are posted on the Palmer website. Daily Schedule Students will have 4 academic classes (Math, Science, Social Studies, and Language Arts) Connections will be at the end of the day. Dre
