Regulations Regarding Ph.D. Graduation Application Amended by the Curriculum Committee, 27 August 2012 Applicable to admissions of the 2011 academic year and later Some procedural matters concerning the graduation application of a Ph.D. student are as follows: There must be a signed “Ph.D. Dissertation Advisor Agreement.” And check the “Course Planning Sheet” for agreement with the courses actually taken. Have passed the qualification exams. Have acquired the required course credits. Have the following materials ready one month before the oral defense and submit them for the review by the Dissertation Examination Committee and for public exhibit in room ED514 for ten (10) days. A list of proposed defense committee members. Two copies of candidate recommendation letter by advisor. Two copies of candidate’s CV. Two copies of the transcript for the duration of Ph.D. study and two copies of the Course Planning Sheet. Two typed copies of the “Description of Ph.D. Dissertation” form. Two copies of the publications list, and two copies of each published paper in its final published form. If the final published form of a paper is not available, the submitted version may be used, but it should be accompanied by the acceptance letter. Two copies of the draft dissertation. Fill in the “Ph.D. Dissertation Oral Defense Committee” form based on the approved list of committee members, and submit it together with the aforementioned documents for the approval by the Director of the Institute. Apply for appointment letters for the defense committee members, invite the defense committee members, schedule the oral defense, prepare the materials for the defense, book the room for oral defense, and post the announcements of the dissertation presentation. Proceed with the oral defense. Counting of dissertation points: Prior to applying for oral defense, a Ph.D. student shall complete a draft of the dissertation and the required dissertation-related publications based on his/her rese
