Copyrights Examination 2016?The Dickinson School of Law Professor Geoffrey Scott?The Pennsylvania State University I As a youth growing up in Japan, Yamazaki（山崎）, was the son of a venerable fisherman. His mother was a designated living cultural treasure and reposed with the knowledge of Ikebana（插花） flower arrangement. The Ikebana style calls for simplicity of expression and is founded upon an understanding of the rhythm of life and its organic vision. Yamazaki’s early artistic experiences have influenced him greatly, and he carried them with him even as he ventured to the United States in the service of his native country. Notwithstanding, or perhaps, because of the rigors of his professional life, Yamazaki also followed a path of artistry, and he developed quite a good reputation in Washington DC and environs as a creative personality. Since artistic expression was always a great influence in his life, it was Yamazaki’s continuing personal goal to integrate aesthetics into all of his experiences. In the time that he had available for his art, he applied his talents to painting and also to combining aesthetics with objects with which he came into daily contact. One day while attending a reception at the Naval War College, he was particularly impressed by certain tableware being used that incorporated a fish motif. He found it very pleasing to be stimulated to remember his father and his young days at sea fishing with him. The pattern was one specially designed for the Naval War College by a gentleman named Reed Barton. A picture of the tableware appears immediately below. Several weeks after the reception and while he was on a fishing trip to the Outer Banks, North Carolina, Yamazaki hosted a party on the local beach. As one of the activities at the event, people were asked to scavenge打扫 the beach for any items that could be employed as utensils餐具 in serving and eating the food that was provided. Yamazaki’s guests found all sorts of shells, driftwood and natu
