Arguments have come up among parents and educationalists regarding whether students should go abroad for further education or not. From my perspective, the demerits should by no means make us lose sight of the benefits that oversea study brings into students’ future lives. One main advantage is that students can improve their foreign language skills and broaden their intellectual horizons when studying in another country. One apparent reason is that it is far easier for them to pick up a language as well as acquire their expertise. As a result, with language proficiency and professional skills, those students stand a better chance of finding a decent job. Another benefit is that students who spend some time in a completely strange country tend to be more open-minded and independent, both of which are essential qualities that can give them an advantage in terms of coping with challenges of work.
