In this product list, our organic wines are marked by our Six Senses Organic Wine List. Organic wines meet certain standards set by the food or Agriculture authority of their respective government. Many wineries technically apply organic methods but choose not to be certified. All the wines with the green organic label in Six Senses Wine List still follow some common criteria and most of them are certified in their countries. Organic wines criteria: The organic wines are based on a practical philosophy called anthroposophy, which aims at considering some new challenges such as ecology and energy preservation. To meet this philosophy, the wine makers changed their producing practical expressing their nature friendly vision: Manual handling in the vineyards * Zero additives * Zero pesticides * Zero fungicides * Zero chemical fertilizers Through organic viticulture, wines growers are looking to achieve improvement of their vineyards quality, focusing especially on soil fertility, crop nutrition, pest, and weed and disease control. Biodynamic: Biodynamic agriculture shares the same values that can be found in organic agriculture, however it also incorporates principles from spiritual, mystical, and astrological orientation, thus takes organic farming one step further. By using livestock manures and a diversity of other plants and insects, the vineyard is treated like an organism in itself. The other central tenet is the respect for the biodynamic calendar, which charts the movement of the moon, along with the location of the sun and the planets.
