The use of PKI mechanism is to safeguard the security of online payment in a better way in order to promote social and economic development by using public key and other means. This paper begins with the aspects of present network security, comprehensively discussing network security and safety level history. And then it makes a research on the PKI mechanism itself .This research is about PKI mechanism, the mechanism of PKI standard ,system structure and advantages of PKI mechanism. Then it must have a look on online payment and summarize nowadays the development of Internet bank and the present situation, and be specific enough to sum up the online payment itself . By discussing the PKI mechanism, it can study the PKI mechanism for online payment security means. Finally, this thesis takes Taobao shopping as the research object. Through the deployment of Taobao shopping system structure before the PKI mechanism, there are some problems and the safety hidden, contrast to the Taobao deploying PKI mechanism, supplemented by firewall; it fully demonstrated the advantages and functions of PKI mechanism.
