Priority Action Plan 2005-2006 Dorset Coast Forum 2005 - 2006 Priority Action Plan INTRODUCTION This report outlines the priority actions and work areas of the Dorset Coast Forum between July 2005 and March 2006. Not just the Forum team – a partnership! The main aim of the Forum is to bring together the different sectors involved with the management of the Dorset coast, to help achieve Integrated Coastal Zone Management. As mentioned above, this report outlines the main work areas of the Forum secretariat, however a great deal of additional work will be taking place throughout the year involving the large number of organisations which make up the Forum. The Forum maintains its structure and purpose through the ongoing support and enthusiasm of the organisations involved and their commitment to improve the management of the Dorset coast. As a result, if a particular issue or project is not covered in this report, it is not due to its lack of importance as it is possible that it is already being looked at by a member organisation. However, if you have any questions or wish to clarify any points or issues please contact us at the address below. How have the priorities been identified? The Key priorities referred to within this document were identified through continued discussion with members and government and were outlined in the publication ‘State of the Dorset Coast’ published in May 2005. However these issues are not ‘new’ and their foundations can be located in the initial Dorset coast Strategy although emphasis may have been redirected. Some of the priority areas have been brought about by opportunity and others are a continuation of the prvios plan and our underlying work.
