Purpose. The purpose of this manual is to provide information and guidance on the use of roller-compacted concrete (RCC) in dams and other civil works structures. Elements discussed include investigation and selection of materials, mixture proportioning, design and construction considerations, construction equipment and techniques, and inspection. This manual is intended to serve as a companion to Engineer Manual (EM) 1110-2-2000, Standard Practice for Concrete. The user of this manual should have a copy of EM 1110-2-2000 and the references listed therein.
