Methods 138 patients randomized prospective study of patients with thoracotomy. Before surgery were randomly divided into three groups: group 1 (46 cases) for the intercostal nerve freezing group; group 2 (46 cases) for the administration of epidural catheter group; group 3 (46 cases) were injected to the drug group. Comparison of analgesic effect of 3 groups, analgesic-related complications and the impact on the respiratory system complications. Results Group 1 of the analgesic effect significantly superior to group 2 and group 3 (P amp;lt;0.05); Group 1 of the analgesic-related complications and the occurrence of respiratory complications than the other two groups (P amp;lt;0.05). Conclusion intercostal nerve freezing is a safe and effective prevention and treatment of lateral thoracotomy incision approach.
