CS160 Project Group Members: Sarah Beth Eisinger, Katy Harrison, Betty Ho, Strom Lee,?Michael Nelson, and Timon Safaie Discussion: Thursday 10:00 – 11:00 AM Project Proposal The application helps users in deciding what they will wear on a given day or occasion. It allows users to scan and upload their clothes from their wardrobe whereby the system will store and organized the data into categories. The application will help the user match clothes and decide what clothes are appropriate for different situations such as seasonal (i.e. fall, winter, spring, and summer wear), formal engagements, recreational activities, casual wear, etc. To further facilitate the customization of an optimized wardrobe, the application will also serve as a clothing scheduler. It will keep track of what articles of clothing have been worn, when they were last worn, when the user intends to wear them next, and when they should be washed during the week. Also, users can upload images of themselves in which they can use in place of the virtual manikins. Thus, the application will serve as a personal fashion guide and management system. N/A The platform of the application will be a personal computer with the Microsoft Windows operating system running on an x86 architecture microprocessor. Users will be presented with an interface designed in a high-level development environment, such as Flash or Visual Basic. The overall effect will be a windowed environment laid out for ease of access and usage. The backend of the application will be a database, which stores the user’s input. In order to connect the two components of the application to facilitate functionality, scripts will interface the high-level environment to the backend. As an expansion feature, users will be able to download entire databases of clothing catalogs from commercial clothing vendors from the internet. Similar applications include Cosmopolitan Fashion Makeover by Broderbund and ’s virtual modeling program.
