Nomination and Election Report Council Nominations and Elections to ccNSO Council 2014 16 December 2013 1) Background The nominations and elections of the ccNSO Council members, which are taking seat in March 2014, started in October and ended in December 2013. Gabriella Schittek was appointed Nomination- and Election manager on 10 September 2013 (see /workinggroups/minutescouncil-10sep13-en.pdf, 4). The timeline was set according to the ccNSO guidelines (see /about/guidelines-ccnso-council-election-procedure- 08may08en.pdf, page 2), however, the starting time was set somewhat later than foreseen in the guidelines, so that a QA session with any possible candidates could be arranged during the ICANN meeting in Buenos Aires (17 – 22 November 2013). The timeline was confirmed by the ccNSO Council on 10 September 2013 (see /workinggroups/minutescouncil-10sep13-en.pdf page 3). At the close of the call the following nominations were received: African Region Souleymane Oumtanaga, .ci Nominated by Vika Mpisane, .za on 14 October 2013, Sanou Serge, .bf on 16 October 2013 and Ali Hadji Mmadi on 23 October 2013, seconded by Paulos Nyirenda, .mw 16 October 2013. A nomination for Souleymane Oumtanaga by Vika Mpisane was received and archived on 12 October 2013.
