The global climate changes affect the forest ecosystems, which inverse- ly give a feedback to the global climate changes in a certain extent. As an important part of the global terrestrial eco- system, the responses and feedbacks of the forest ecosystem in China to the future global climate changes have be- come very attractive issues. T his paper summarizes systemically the impacts of the global climate change on forest distribution, forest productivity, forest species composition and forest soil , and also points out the main problems in the present researches, such as taking into account the extreme climate events rarely, ignoring the interaction be- tw een different forest species, considering not enough about the mutual eff ects and f eedbacks betw een the global cl-i mate changes and the forest ecosystem in China, understanding superficially the mechanism on the responses of the forest succession to the global c
