Design:Block-designrestphasesof3TeslafMRIdatawereanalyzedtoassessRS-FCin31patients(10clinicallyisolated syndromes,16relapsing-remitting,5secondaryprogressiveMS)and31age-andgendermatchedhealthycontrols(HC). Participantsunderwentextensivecognitivetesting. Observations:Inbothgroups,signalchangesinseveralbrainareasdemonstratedsignificantcorrelationwithRS-activityin theACC.Thesecomprisedtheposteriorcingulatecortex(PCC),insularcortices,therightcaudate,rightmiddletemporal gyrus,angulargyri,therighthippocampus,andthecerebellum.ComparedtoHC,patientsshowedincreasedFCbetween theACCandtheleftangulargyrus,leftPCC,andrightpostcentralgyrus.Bettercognitiveperformanceinthepatientswas associatedwithincreasedFCtothecerebellum,middletemporalgyrus,occipitalpole,andtheangulargyrus. Conclusion:WeprovideevidenceforadaptivechangesinRS-FCinMSpatientscomparedtoHCinasustainedattention network.Theseresultsexten
