Methods:Weusedabio-impedancespectroscopydevice,theBodyCompositionMonitor(BCM)toassessvolumestatusina cross-sectionalcohortofprevalentPDpatientsindifferentEuropeancountries.Theresultswerecomparedtoanageand gendermatchedhealthypopulation. Results:Only40%outof639patientsfrom28centresin6countrieswerenormovolemic.Severefluidoverloadwaspresent in25.2%.Therewasawidescatterintherelationbetweenbloodpressureandvolumestatus.Inamultivariateanalysisin thesubgroupofpatientsfromcountrieswithunrestrictedavailabilityofallPDmodalitiesandfluidtypes,olderage,male gender,lowerserumalbumin,lowerBMI,diabetes,highersystolicbloodpressure,anduseofatleastoneexchangeperday with the highest hypertonic glucose were associated with higher relative tissue hydration. Neither urinary output nor ultrafiltration,PDfluidtypeorPDmodalitywereretainedinthemodel(totalR2ofthemodel=0.57). Conclusions:TheEuroBCMstudydemonstratessomeinterestingissuesre
