Yuanmingyuan was built in 1703,and completed in 1792. It was made up with Yuanmingyuan,Changchunyuan and Wanchunyuan.There were more than 100 sights and it occupied 160,000 square meters. More interesting is, was built in the western garden yuanmingyuan scenic spot. The most famous wonder, is a western fountain In Emperor Qianlong year, when the Lantern Festival was coming, Emperor Qianlong would sat in the gloriette(亭子) and there was a big maze around him. Then when someone said ”Start!”, four ladies-in-waiting were running fast to the gloriette from four directions at the same time, because the one who arrive first would acquire an abundant rewards.
