Dongz h im en Hosp ital , B eij ing Un ivers ity of Ch inese Med icine ) ABSTRACT　 Ob ect ive　 To observe the effect of Hes Santong method ( Three ways to remove obstruction) of acupuncture for treatment of cervical spondylosis of nerve-root type. Methods　 The 52 patients with nerve-root type cervical spondylosis were randomly divided into two groups, 26 in each. The treatment group was treated by Hes Santong method of acupuncture while the control group was administered Gentongping Granule, 2 weeks as onecourse. The therapeutic effect was evaluated by comparing the scores of symptoms, visual analogue scale (VAS) and changes in hemorheology after treatment. Resul ts　 The total effective rate of the treatment and control groupswas 96. 1 and 69. 2 respectively with a significant difference between (P 0. 05). The scores of symptoms of the treatment group after treatment were better than those of thecontrol group (P 0. 05). The difference between the two groups in high shearviscosity of blood was significant (P 0. 05). Thehigh shear viscosity of blood in the treatment group was lowered significantly. Conclusi
