M ethods One hundred and nineteen dental plaque sampleswere collected, while recording their age, gender, ed ucational attainment, smoke, drink, DMFT /dmft, and denture. PCR method was preformed for identification Cand ida albicans, S trep to coccus m utans, L actobac illus f erm entum , analyzing the correlation between oralCand ida albicans and dental caries epidemiological factors. Results Thirtyfour samples ( 34/119, 28. 6% ) were found to be Cand ida albi cans carriers. The means of dmft/DMFT and the prevalence of dental carieswere 4. 65 and 79. 4% ( 27/34) inCand ida albicans carriers, and 3. 60 and 68. 2% ( 58/85) in non Cand ida albicans carriers.
