The small watershed settlement units and ecological matrix are the container and medium of the pressure by the development of human settlements and the transitions of water and soil erosion in the region of Loess Plateau. Mitigation solutions of the pressure could be explained by the loosen forms to respect the units pattern and the matrix, thinking on the urbanization and adopting the organic evacuation construction approach. The paper is based on the perspective and methods of landscape architecture discipline and introduces the landscape planning and design theories and practices of small watershed human settlement ecological units and bio-condition construction according to different fragile ecological matrix characteristics, and the study brings forward three models of the ecologica
