Course Introduction and Basic Requirement Histology is a science to study normal microstructure and function of organisms using light or electron microscopes including cells, basic tissues and organs. Embryology is a science to explore processes and mechanism of ontogenesis (why and how a single fertilized cell develops into whole body) in which involves gametogenesis, fertilization, cleavage, gastrulation, organogenesis, fetal growth, birth, relationship between fetus and mother, and formation of congenital abnormality etc. The course of Histology and Embryology is divided into two parts including courses of theory and experiment, the time fraction of theory and experiment is 2/3. During the experimental teaching course the students would be expected to be familiar with microscopy and master normal microstructures of the observed specimens based on the theoretical knowledge learnt before the each experiment under supervising of a teacher who is in charge of the experimental teaching. 2.
