T he hydrogen vo lum et ric f ract ion in t he t ot al int ake air w as g radually increased fro m 0 up to 6% by adding hy dro gen inject ion pulse w idt h. T he ex periment r esult s demo nst rat e t hat the eng ine brake t hermal eff iciency ( BT E is impr oved by hydrogen enrichm ent . A nd w hen t he hydrog en vo lum et ric fraction reaches 6% , t he BT E increases by 14. 53% on average, compared t o f ueled w it h pure gasoline. T he ig nit ion delay and fast burning durat ion shor ten , t he peak cylinder pr essure rises and it s relevant cr ank ang le adv ances , w hile t he cyclic variation in peak cylinder pressur e decreases w it h incr easing of hy dro gen enr ichment lev el.
