Research Institute of Geographical Sciences and Natural Resources, CAS, Beijing 100101,China;2.Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing 100039,China) Abstract ：Based on the structure of regional water use and the spatially distributing correlation between arable land, town population, rural population and the demand of regional water resource, the model was built according to the principle of Lorenz curve and the calculation method for Gini coefficient. This model could be used to compute quantificational regional spatial matching degree of water resource. A demonstration is applied to Liaoning Province. And then considering Liaoning Province’s own conditions, some countermeasures that help to increase its spatial matching degree of water resource are offered.
