The article has five parts. In the first part, one revolution of the Truth of Art is expounded. First, the Theory of Imitation emphasizes on the truth of vision. And then Cezanne s theory of the Truth of Art is expounded. Since Cezanne, peoples viewpoint on the Truth of Art in the works of western Modernism has been changed. First, the Truth of Art stems from the truth of heart. Second, expressing the truth of feeling. The third part of the article tries to discover the Truth of Art of western Modernist artwork. First is Cezanne s truth. Second is Cubist truth. The third is expressionist truth. The fourth is the truth of abstractionism. The fourth part tries to find the counterpart of the Truth of Art of western Modernism in Chinese traditional theory. Last part expounds the pluralism of the Truth of Art in the Post Modernist culture context.
